A change in legislation which meant that vicars were required to use new registers from 1813. This cut off date often comes at a suitable juncture for some transcribers - eg one County FHS has, I believe, transcribed all the PRs in the county from 1813 - 1837 ? There are other dates which some transcribers also work to, for similar reasons, eg 1837 and 1754.
