Hi Joy I have no idea where you live but if you are within travelling distance of a LDS (Mormon) Family History Centre films of bishop's transcripts for all 3 parishes are available for ordering and viewing. It appears when I look at the library holdings on the LDS site that the records for all these parishes are poor. That is to say, many years are missing and they have no parish registers filmed by the LDS, just Bishop's Transcripts. However having said that, the BTs do seem to pretty well cover the time period you have mentioned. The 45 minutes or so that I spend travelling to my nearest LDS centre is well worth it. Have you used one? Good luck with your searches Marjorie >I can find nothing more about his origins - Mary's maiden name, parents of >William and Mary, Charles's siblings - zilch! > >He married Charlotte BEACHAM in Stanton Drew in 1836 and they had 13 sons >and one daughter, of whom I have found six sons and Sarah, the daughter. >What became of the other seven sons? > >Can anyone advise me where to start looking for all this missing info, >please? Also, where would Chilcompton parish records be available? > >My 3GGF, James BEACHAM, was b about 1795 and married Sarah?? about 1814 in >Chew Magna. They produced six children, some in Chew Magna and some in >Stanton Drew. > >I would love to know Sarah's maiden name and discover the parents of both >James and Sarah. Has anyone access to parish records for either of these >villages, please? They don't even appear on Hugh Wallis's website. > >Kind regards >Joy
