I'm looking for the origins of a Thomas GERMAN (or JARMAN) who was indentured in Bristol in 1662 and bound for Maryland. Was he the same Thomas GERMAN or JARMAN who was living in Calvert County, Maryland, as early as 1680? In 1680 he received a small payment from the estate of Izaccy VANTREES (apparently a matter of debt not kinship). Thomas GERMAN was still living in Calvert County about 1708 when he and a Peter MADRING were the co-owners of a small parcel of land. Peter MADRING died about 1718; an estate for Thomas JARMAN is not yet found. I would enjoy direct contact with any Jarmans (and variants) who read this. John German german@jarman.net
