I'm looking up some of Ian's ancestors. I'm convinced that Ian is descended from a John MAY, stone mason, born ~1809 Bradworthy, and Mary, born ~1815 Holsworthy. However, I need some more information to trace the tree back further. Does anybody have a copy of the parish records for Bradworthy, DEV? I am interested to know if the Mary WALTER who married John MAY on 28 Mch 1833, was the daughter of Charles WALTER and his wife Sarah STEVENS. Also was this John MAY a stone mason, and was he the son of Charles MAY and Jane? If all these suppositions are correct, then I'll be a happy bunny as there is a lot of information about the WALTER family on the web (which seems to be borne out on web-sites showing wills, etc) dating back to the 1600s.
