whilst searching the Wessex plus archives I came across a message from Mandy O'Neill in 2001 which indicates a connection with the Hannam and Parson families in Kington Magna and Fifehead Magdalen area of Dorset. Although I sent an email to her it has bounced back. Are you still subscribed Mandy? Has anyone else got the Hannams or Parsons connection. Mine is through William Hannam born 1794 in F. Magdalen who married Edith Parsons born 1796 K. Magna. Sonia
Sonia, I have some Hannam's on my Mother's side. They are mainly from North Cheriton although there does appear to be one born in Henstridge. Both of these villages are in Somerset although not too far away from the Dorset border. My 2xggrandfather George Pickford married a Sarah Hannam during 1865 in North Cheriton. Both her father Charles Hannam (born 1804) and her grandfather Edmund Hannam (born 1770) were born in North Cheriton. However one of her sisters appears to have been born at Henstridge although christened at North Cheriton. At the moment I can't see that there is any connection with your Hannams but you never know.
