Does anyone have a family line or even a handed down family story that indicates the emigration, prior to 1800, of the GRANDY name from the Wessex area to America, Canada or Newfoundland. I have spotted an Apprenticeship Bond for a CHARLES GRANDY of Corfe, Dorset for fishing in Fortune Bay, NFL. dated 1771, but I suspect that there were families also that left England to seek a new life.
