Tuesday, January 24, 1933 The Bridgewater Bulletin Sudden Death of Rev. Ernest Ploughman Rev. Ernest Ploughman, pastor of St. Paul's United Church at Blue Rocks, dropped dead, suddenly in the yard of his home there at seven o'clock Tuesday evening Jan. 17. Fifty-two years of age, he had been in poor health for some time past. He had been pastor at Blue Rocks since last July, having been sent to that small charge on account of his failing health. Mr Ploughman was born at Leeds, in England, and came to Canada twenty-five years ago. Since that time he has had charges at Woodlawn, Wallace, Margaree, River John and Louisburg. He is survived by his wife, a daughter, Mabel, and one son, Raymond. A memorial service was held Wednesday, at the church at Blue Rocks by the Presbytery of Lunenburg-Queens, and the Presbytery chairman, Rev. W.H. Watts, conducted the ceremony. On Thursday the body was forwarded to Louisburg for funeral services and interment, Rev. H. Stanley Bland, of Lunenburg, representing the Presbytery, accompanied the body.
