Dear List, Before I unsubscribe for a short while could SKS please see if they can find a John Walter SHIRLEY on the 1851- 1861- 1871 - 1881or even 1891 (sorry for so many) census's also his wife Mary SHIRLEY nee GLANVILLE/HOSKING on the 1871 - 1881 census's for me? They are my brickwall and my GGrandparents. Mary was born in Saltash, CON in ?1852 but both of them had children baptised on the I.O.W. by the names of:- Henry James SHIRLEY born 25th April 1879 - Sandown, I.O.W. Lucy SHIRLEY was thought to have been born at Saltash in 1876. But the info below alters that somewhat, can anyone help me find out more info on this extremly elusive family? BAPTISMS: children of John Walter + Mary SHIRLEY (fathers occ: Corporal Royal Artillery) abode - Lower Sandown, I.O.W. Lucy .. 21 June 1878 Sandown. Henry James .. 24 Oct 1879 Sandown. Their other 5 children were born in Saltash, CON. The death registration for Mary Shirley - The index details are - 1895 June Qtr, St Germans, 5c 34, age 41 Thank you for your time, patience, and generous help.
