I ordered the birth certificate for a girl who MAY have been my elusive Emily Sabina Barrett's sister. The details are as follows: Name: Elizabeth Barrett Father: John Barrett Profession of father: Labourer Name of mother: Sarah Barrett formerly MASLIN Signature of informant: X The mark of Sarah Barrett mother at Highworth. The birth took place Jan 21 1840 in Highworth. According to what I've found, Emily's parents were probably John Barrett and Sarah _____. John was a shopkeeper in 1874. I'm posting this in the hopes that maybe SOMEONE out there can confirm that this John and Sarah (Maslin) Barrett had a child named Emily Sabina Barrett between 1854 and 1859, possibly in Wootton Bassett. Her possible sister was Julia Susan Barrett, b. 1846. On the Wootton Bassett parish records I found a Julia Susan HEATH b. 1846, but not Julia Susan BARRETT. Is it possible that Julia S was adopted?
