Many years ago, a search of The Nimrod Index revealed a Bastardy record by Sarah FORWARD spinster against William ALFORD, a labourer, both of Mere in 1816. Also a warrant to arrest father. Ref: WRO/438/50&51. This information has not been followed up at this time, although a baptism of Mary FORWARD daughter of Sarah on 7 July 1816 at Mere has been noted on the IGI.
