Hi Listers I couldn't stay away from this great site! I've now discovered a 2xg-grandmother in my husband's family, named Julia BUCKLAND,b 3 Mar 1830. She married James Charles HALE in Fisherton Anger, 11 Jan 1854. Well, it looks like Anger in the family bible, but could be Angel. Either way, I can't locate it, not even on Multimap. Could SKS please tell me whether I'm looking for the right name? And of course, if anyone is researching these names I'll be delighted to hear from them Kind regards Joy

However, time marches on and Salisbury has now consumed FA, which now forms the north west suburb of the newer City. The present parish church of St Paul was built in 1852 and replaced the old church of St Clement. I'm not sure if the old maps site is working this week-end as they promised downtime over this weekend, but if you have a look at: http://www.old-maps.co.uk/oldSite/10wilts381/HTML/fs_38066001g.htm next week if you can find "Fisherton Farm" in the middle of the map to the north of Salisbury, with St Paul's church to the South East, the area in between and down to the railway station was where FA used to be situated. On Multimap I think it forms the area between the leisure centre and the red blob which marks the railway station. Zoom right in and there is a Fisherton Island and Fisherton St. Regards Paul Portland
