Paul Benyon replied with the technique using the batch number, which gets out all children if the family in the same batch - usually all the children in the same parish. There is an alternative, which gets children in several parishes. Don't put any names for the child - not even the surname. Put in the surname and forename of the father, and the forename of the mother. You can choose a country and county, and a range of years. You cannot choose exact spelling. As an example, put Michael Cass as name of father, Mary as name of mother, British Isles as region. You get 9 matches, with two parishes in Yorkshire and one in Lincoln - and it is all one family (and it's mine!). If you get too many hits it is worth adding the maiden name of the mother - but this loses a lot of genuine matches where the mother's maiden name is not in the record.
