    3. Hello all, I'm new to this list and would like to say hello and post my interests. I am researching my BRIMBLE ancestors and believe that they lived in Somerset ca. 1848. My g-grandfather, David J. BRIMBLE b: December 11, 1872 in Ystradyfodwg, Pontypridd, Glamorgan, Wales d: December 19, 1937 in Lansford, Carbon County, PA, USA. His birth certificate states that his parents were James BRIMBLE & Ellen HUGHES. Their marriage certificate shows that they were married 25 March 1872 in Sardis Chapel Pontypridd, Glamorgan, Wales. According to US Census info, James BRIMBLE was born March 1848. The only James BRIMBLE that I discovered that was born March 1848 was the son of James BRIMBLE & Ann BRIMBLE formerly SMITH. He was born 22 March 1848, Wells, Somerset. (The residence of the father appears to be Abbott Wootten. I could be wrong about the spelling, as it is difficult to read.) I read that many Somerset people migrated across the Bristol Channel to south Wales in the 18th and 19th centuries, looking for work. So I am hopeful that the James Brimble from Wells is my ancestor. I have searched the 1851 Census for Glamorgan Wales and have found no sign of Brimbles being there at that time period. I'm assuming that they must not have migrated yet. If anyone has access to the 1851 Census and would be willing to lookup this family in the Wells, Somerset area, I would be extremely grateful! The family group would be as follows: James Brimble (head of household) Ann Brimble (wife) James Brimble (son) ~3 years old [it is not known if there were other children] Many thanks for any help with this!
