Hi, I am a new lister and would like to post my interests. My GGGGrandfather was born in Bishop Lydeard on 4 April 1830, the son of Thomas Bodger and Mary Rogers who were married in Bishop Lydeard on 19 May 1823 Thomas is probably the son of John Bodger born in 1765 at Kingston St Mary and his wife Betty, but this has yet to be proved. The problem I have is that here are 3 Thomas's born to John and Betty all at different time eg 1791, 1793 and 1802. It is suggested that as one son died in childhood the next son was given the same name. Is this likely and has anyone come across it?. I would love to hear from anyone researching the Bodger family especially if they were a descendant. Hope this makes sense but I'm quite new to this game.
