I have been commissioned to compile a listing of British genealogy on CD-Rom, to be published by the FFHS. My first step has been to identify as many publishers of CDs as I can, mainly be checking through past issues of 'Family Tree Magazine'. However, there are likely to be publishers that I have missed. If you publish CDs relevant to British genealogists (or know of publishers whom I am likely to have missed), and have not heard from me in the last couple of weeks, I would be grateful if you could get in touch by emailing me at stuart@samjraymond.softnet.co.uk The information I need includes: contact details; titles of CDs; system requirements; content of CDs if not fully explained by titles; prices. I propose to list all CDs relating to the whole of the British Isles, including England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, and the offshore islands. However, I will not, in general, list CDs which are programs without factual information. I already have information on a couple of hundred CDs, and it is apparent that there is a huge mass of information out there which is difficult for interested genealogists to identify without a full listing. If you would like information about this project when it comes to fruition, please let me know. My apologies for cross-posting, but it is obviously important for the whole genealogical community that I receive as much information as possible.
