    3. Hi All, I wonder if anyone has come across the baptism of Mary Ann CHESTERMAN - some time between about 1802 and 1806. Mary Ann married William Harris in Burford, Oxon in October 1824. This marriage had eluded me until recently and now I 'Think' I have added a further three or four generations - but Mary Ann's baptism would be the confirmation. The theory goes like this (all information obtained from IGI extracted records but the details haven't been checked yet.) Isaac CHESTERMAN (from South Cerney, Glocs) was married to Mary TURNER in Cirencester, Glocs in 1800. They had two children - William (1800) and Hannah(1802) in Lechlade, Glocs before turning up in Burford, Oxon in 1814 when their daughter Eleanor was baptised. I suspect that Mary Ann was one of their children baptised in the 'Wilderness Years' where I can't find them. I have a feeling that the William CHESTERMAN who, with his wife Harriet, baptised Charles (1820), Caroline (1823) and Caleb C (1828) in Burford, Oxon was also the son of Isaac and Mary. >From here, going further back, all the action appears centered on South Cerney - leading eventually to William CHESTERMAN and Hester ? who must have married in about 1737. Mary Ann CHESTERMAN was recorded as coming from Cirencester in the 1851 census, I feel this is a little suspect as there were other inaccuracies, her husband's age was at least 5 years out and I have a feeling hers may have been as well. Any sightings of Mary Ann would be gratefully received, and any other siblings baptised between say 1803 & 1813 Hope this made sense All the best Dave Rossiter
