Arrangements are now well in hand for the "Count Me In" 2001 UK Census. If any of you UK residents fancy being part of this event, there is still time to apply for jobs as enumerators. Appointments will be made in March. You will each deliver forms to about 400 homes between 9 and 27 April. The work load is light and anyone with a job could handle it working just evenings and weekends. Most of the forms will be posted back - we hope - and enumerators will only be out again between the 9 and 18 May to follow up forms not returned. The pay is about £400 + expenses. The forms will come as a bit of a shock to genies who are familiar with the bare-bones data of previous censuses. Lots of questions about work and travel are now included, but you will only be asked the country you were born in, nothing more. I am a census team leader for part of Bristol. If anyone has any questions, I'll try to answer them. Later on there will be a free Census Help-Line. Ernie Bull Bristol, UK.
