For those who don't receive Dick Eastman's weekly Genealogy Newsletter the following might have a Wessex flavour: he gives details for the new National Burial Index which can be seen at: http://www.twrcomputing.co.uk/nbi.htm The CDs are said to include more than 5.3 million burials in England and Wales from 1538 onwards. The blurb on the site suggests that Wessex counties will be represented as follows: Berkshire 51000, Dorset 1000, Gloucestershire 151000, Oxfordshire 256000 and Wiltshire 146000 See the site for more details, price and how to order etc. Dick also states that he has been advised that 125 million new records have been added to the IGI: I know no more than this!
