I've found details of an 1811 will in the Death Duty Registers that could help me a lot if I can identify legatees. I am looking for marriages to WEAVERs, particularly Benjamins, Richards, Francises and Johns, from 1811 back to the earlier 1700s. One is probably a daughter of James SEVIOR. Francis WEAVER of Faulkland in the psh of Kilmington left: - property and money to his brother John WEAVER - lands in the pshes of Chilcompton and Dunkerton and money to his nephew Benjamin WEAVER and money to: - his niece Rachael CHAPMAN - Francis WEAVER (descended from a brother of his father) - his cousins Benjamin and Richard WEAVER - to James Sevior WEAVER (a descendant of his brother) - Robert POPJOY (descended from a brother of his grandmother). It is Robert that I am interested in. There are CHAPMAN/POBJOY marriages across the Wilts border at this period. Richard WEAVER paid the duty for his son Francis. James SEVIOR paid in trust for James WEAVER. I read the family structure as follows. Francis WEAVER (d. 1811) had a brother John who had a son Benjamin and a daughter Rachel, who married ?? CHAPMAN bef. 1811. A son of John married a d/o James SEVIOR and had a son James. Francis had a paternal uncle, who had sons Benjamin and Richard. Richard had a son Francis bef. 1811. The POPJOY/POBJOY connection is more difficult, because I don't know the maiden names involved.
