Phyllis I don't know that I have any connections with these families, but I have NIPPRESS ancestry from the Swindon area of Wiltshire. They gradually moved in a north-easterly direction during the 1800's, and eventually arrived here in Oxford. NIPPRESS seems to have been spelled in loads of different ways, and NIPPER, NIPPERED and NIPPERD are some of the more remote variants. Are you aware of any North Wiltshire connections in your research ? I posted my interest in these names on the Wiltshire-EMI list around Christmas, and got just one response - Tony Woodward very kindly sent me some 1891 census extracts.
