Dear all, As you may have already heard Worcestershire Record Office is on the move. Here is our programme and we would appreciate it if you would display this information in your public searchroom. 1. St Helens branch, Fish Street, Worcester will be closed to the public after Thursday 12 April 2001 in preparation for the move of its entire contents to Worcester HQ branch, County Hall, Spetchley Road, Worcester WR5 2NP. 2. HQ branch will also be closed to the public after 12 April 2001 until early Autumn in preparation to receive the contents of the St Helens branch, but also to enable the contents of its searchroom to be moved to the new Worcestershire Library and Family History Centre. 3. The new Worcestershire Library and Family History Centre at the Trinity, Worcester will open its doors on Monday 30 April 2001. The new Centre will hold all the microform family history resources currently held at the HQ branch together with Local Studies books from Worcester City Library. 4. Anyone planning to visit Worcestershire Record Office in the next few months is advised to telephone the office in advance for details of the progress of the move and the availability of records, particularly original documents. 5. As the move proceeds we will endeavour to issue updates as quickly as possible and apologise for any inconvenience which may be caused during this period, we will endeavour to open at County Hall as quickly as we can.
