Hello listers, I am always looking for information on the descendants of Dr Walter Farquhar HOOK Dean of Chichester, and his wife Anna Delicia JOHNSTON. Their son Walter HOOK was Rector of Porlock,SOM and married to Mary Dyke TROYTE. Today I discovered that their son Arthur James HOOK had been a cricketer of renown. Arthur died 12 February 1957 at Over Stowey,SOM. Does anyone have access to an obituary for him please as I would like to know if he was married with a family? TIA, Judith Stichbury in NZ

Hi Judith I would suggest that if your relative was a well known cricketer then your best bet would be to try and obtain a look-up from the Wisden Cricket Almanac. Maybe one of the cricket newsgroups can help: England.Sport.Cricket rec.sport.cricket rec.sport.cricket.info rec.sport.cricket.scores uk.sport.cricket Regret I don't know which would be the most suitable! I see that they also do look-ups on the Wisden site at: http://www.wisden.com/ Might be worth a try?
