My Smith family moved around that general area having children in Broad Hinton 1690s-1840s to Lydiard/Wooton Basset in 1851, Cliffe Pypard in 1853, Broad Town in 1861/1871 and Swindon in 1881. My ancestor also was shown as born in Chippenham when in fact he was born in Cliffe Pypard 1859. I have the Wooton Basset 1851 census so I can take a look. I do recall a William born c1850 living there with his sister Elizabeth. It appears they may have been orphaned as they were not living with their parents.
