Hi List, I have just resubscribed to the list after some months. In this time I have not had any further success with obtaining a copy of a marriage licence for my ancestors John Wadman and Elizabeth Guyer who married in North Cheriton Somerset on 16 Feb 1790 by licence. He was from Horsington, she from North Cheriton. I was hoping that the licence/allegation may have given some details about John Wadman (perhaps mentioning his father) to narrow my choices as there are a couple of likely baptisms of John Wadman in Horsington. Could any lister advise me what higher church jurisdiction this parish would come under, and if so where I could obtain a copy of the licence? Are these licences on film? I have checked under the Vicar General Marriage Licence Index of the Archbishop of Canterbury without any success, so believe the Licence must have been issued by some authority in Somerset.
