    2. kevin mcmahon
    3. hi all summer has arrived here at last. Just thought those with Dorset interests/connections would like to know of the following events:- 1) Saturday 16th & Sunday 17th July Tolpuddle Trade Unions Rally. The old Methodist Chapel is open on the Sunday for a service. There is a free museum there with a new shop (opened last year). There is lots going on both days, but Sunday is the main day. There is a kids area, entertainment from Billy Bragg and many others, plus stalls etc. Car parking £5, village is shut off from traffic. 2) Thursday 21st July 9pm The Smugglers Inn, Osmington Mills has the Morris dancers. Usually more than one group. Last year they had a BBQ and pirate themed fancy dress for all with prizes! 3) Saturday 30th July Milton Abbas C18th Street Fayre 11am-5pm. Free car parking, usually in local field with a mini bus laid on for those who find the walk to the village hard. Entrance £4 adults, £2 children, £10 family. The stall holders and villagers dress up in 18thC dress, many stalls, entertainment (Black Sheep band very good, especially the fiddler!) and much more. happy summer. Sally

    3. Hi All, Happy summer (winter for me)...I can't complain as Brisbane never gets really cold. I'm tracing the following lines in Wiltshire: BRUNSDEN: Swindon/Chisledon/Ogbourne St George HANCOCK: Badbury HARPER: Wanborough VINES: Wanborough WOOLFORD: Chisledon BRUNSDEN is my maternal line, and the one I am most interested in. I have traced them back to Henry BRUNSDEN marrying Susannah BUCKERFIELD in Ogbourne St George in 1690. This is where things get interesting, as the PRs I accessed at the LDS were quiet thin for this period. I'd be very keen to hear from anyone who has a good collection of records for Ogbourne St George prior to 1700. Cheers, Mark Feodoroff Brisbane, Australia -----Original Message----- From: Knightroots@aol.com [mailto:Knightroots@aol.com] Sent: Thursday, 16 June 2005 6:37 PM To: WESSEX-PLUS-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [WSX] Summer................... 3. Hi Steve, It is probably Hill Lane Cemetery on Southampton Common, although it could also be Hollybrook Cemetery. However, Hollybrook is not usually referred to as "Southampton Cemetery" If you write to Bereavement Services, Southampton City Council, they can give you details of the place and location of all municipal burials in the city. (Churchyard burials do not come under their jurisdiction) Hampshire Genealogical Society have transcribed all the gravestones in Hampshire. You may be able to purchase microfiche copies of their transcriptions - but I do know a copy has been deposited in the Hampshire Record Office at Winchester. Lockerley, Hants Joseph 19 b. St Leonards, Dor Henry 17 b. St. Leonards Richard 14 b. St Leonards William 13 b. Piddlehinton Robert 7y b.
