    1. Re: [WSX] FW: Duckett
    2. Hi Rod: I am new at geneaology and am not sure how accurate my information is at this point. I have traced back as far as Ranulph Duchet in 1098. His son Nicholas (b1129) spelled his surname Duket. Nicholas' son Richard (b1162) changed the spelling again to Ducket. Richard's son Stephen (b1205) then changed it to Duckett and that is how we spell it to this day. I am in South Carolina, USA. Richard Duckett Sr. came to America in the late 1600's. I have found a few Duckett's born in Wiltshire, Grayrigg, Calston etc. Richard Duckett Sr. was born in London in 1672. Being an American, I am very interested in where my family originated and why they came to America. Lori

    3. Hi Steve I had a similar problem and Paul Benyon kindly sent me the following info:- Fisherton Anger (FA) is older than Salisbury and was known in the Domesday Book as "Fiscarton". However, time marches on and Salisbury has now consumed FA, which now forms the north west suburb of the newer City. 1. New CD release from Oxfordshire FHS
    2. Hi Listers The latest CD release from this society is a further selection of parish register transcriptions for the Woodstock area. The parish register transcripts on this particular CD are for :- Bladon. Glympton. Kidlington. Nether Worton. North Aston. Steeple Aston. Stonesfield. This CD also has two "added value" features :- 1. there is at least one colour photograph, sometimes more, of each church thereon. 2. a copy of the complete "Oxfordshire Parish Registers and Bishop's Transcripts" by Colin Harris - the Oxfordshire and North Berkshire researchers' bible - is included thereon in digital format. Further details of this CD and how to obtain a copy can be found at :- http://www.ofhs.org.uk/CDsales.html I will also ensure that stocks of that CD are brought to the meeting at the Exeter Hall on Monday 25 July 2005. 2. Thank you so much for your interest in the Brandts. Yes, they were brother and sister and moved to Abertillery in Monmouthshire, Lucy married a Tom Evans, my wife's late father, and Fred moved to Doncaster in the slumps and coal shrikes of 1926 and retired to Frome Somerset in the 70s. The mystery is of their parents and themselves in Bristol. Lucy married in 1923/24. I would appreciate your efforts. Thank you O.R.Lamprey Devon
