Hi Listers I've just discovered the maiden name of my last-but-one 2xg-grandmother. She was Charlotte BEACHAM, b 1816, prob Bath, who married Charles COX, b 1814, also Bath, a cooper. They had 13 sons, of whom I have the names of six, and one daughter, Sarah. The ones I have were b between 1838 and 1849. I wonder if SKS could tell me, please, whether Charles might appear in trade directories, or on the 1841 and 1851 Census returns. I'm sorry, but I don't know the extent to which these two censuses are accessible or useful. I may be just asking too much! Kind regards Joy

Banns of the marriage between Joseph DORE of the parish of West Harptree and Mary NAISH of the parish of Cameley were published in the church of St. James, Cameley on the Sundays of 21st and 28th August and 4th September 1763. It appears that the couple didn't get married in the September or early October as the next entry in the banns register shows that banns for the marriage between Joseph DORE and Mary NASH both of the parish of Cameley were published on the Sundays of 18th and 25th October and 1st October 1763. Joseph DORE and Mary NASH were subsequently married on 5th October 1763. The first set of banns show that Joseph DORE came from West Harptree so I'm hoping this will lead me to other DORE family members who appear to be rather thin on the ground. Does anyone have any links to these DORE or NASH families, please? Hi Listers, Should anyone be looking in the Chewton Mendip parish register, or adjacent parish registers, I would greatly appreciate a look-up for the baptism of Mary Ann DORE. She was born in Ston Easton, c.1796 and I'm hoping that her baptism entry will give me the names of her parents. I couldn't find her baptism in the Cameley parish register and the Ston Easton register doesn't start until 1813. There are enough real viruses around (I received one this morning) without the hoaxes - I should be grateful if list members could write to me "off list" first please as advised in your welcome notes!
