    3. Hi Nicole Yes, certainly sounds like Ilchester and maybe Ilchester Gaol was the place she was incarcerated too? Unfortunately the on-line list of prisoners for Ilchester http://www.somerset.gov.uk/archives/database/Prisoner.htm only includes early 19th century residents. I think that the Somerset Record Office should probably be your starting point: http://www.somerset.gov.uk/archives/somhome.htm Regards Paul Portland On Sun, 1 Apr 2001 21:20:10 +1000, you wrote: >Hi > >I have a convict ancestor Ann Viles or Vales who according to her >convict indent was born in Ilvechester Somerset in about 1768. 1. [WSX] Seeking Charles Major HOUSE
    2. Droo
    3. Hello listers I am looking for the whereabouts of Charles Major HOUSE and family. I know he was a provisions merchant in 1881, he was living at 14 Fore St Teignmouth on the census and I know he lived in Broomfield Somerset 1897 - 99 and then in Aisholt Somerset from 1899 until his death. I also know that he had left by 1893, he isn't in Kelly's for that year. The question that I am hoping someone can help me with is "when did he leave Teignmouth?" Perhaps SKS's with access to the various Kelly's Directories and the 1891 census for Teignmouth would tell me when he was living in Teignmouth and when he disappears. Thanks Andrew

Her children were John CLARK 1874, Arthur CLARK 1877, Albert Thomas ALLEY 1886, Alfred Charles ALLEY 1887 and Ethel May ALLEY 1890. Eliza has been quite difficult to trace living in different parts of the country with different husbands. I'm particularly interested in finding her husband Charles CLARK and any siblings. In 1851 Eliza was living in Westbury with her grandparent's William and Betty NEWMAN and their children Charlotte 28, George 23 and Thomas 21. I don't know where her parents were. 1. [WSX] Bath & Wells Marriage Bonds - Look Up Please
    2. Dave Rossiter
    3. Hi lists, I managed to track down a bunch of ROSSITER marriages which were covered in the index to the Marriage Allegation & Bonds of the Bishop of Bath & Wells held in fiche at Bristol R.O. One of these intrigues me as it has no date & could be connected with my line, The details are - James Rossiter of Foxcote, Carpenter and Elizabeth Shipton of Hemington, spinster aged 20, by parents consent to be married at the Cathedral or St Cuthbert's, Wells. Unfortunately there is no date associated with this bond. If SKS has the time I wonder if they could check either the PRs of St Cuthbert's, Wells or the PRs for Wells Cathedral to see when this marriage took place. - my guess is between 1650 & 1730. Or if SKS could have a look at the original (In Taunton R.O.) and let me know if there was a date mentioned. Looking forward to hearing from you soon All the best Dave Rossiter
