Hello Everyone, Would someone with access to the 1881 census be kind enough to look up - Vincent WORNER - age c.67 yrs. born Martock, Witcombe, Long Load or Ash, Somerset, and wife, Ann WORNER - age c. 67 yrs. born Martock or Long Load or Ash, Somerset could be living with Mary WORNER, dau. c.40 yrs. born Martock etc. and Edward Albert (or Albert Edward) WORNER c.22 yrs. (son of Mary Worner) sometimes recorded as son of Vincent Worner. I hope this is not too much trouble, I have the family on the 1841, 1851 and 1861 census, but lost them on the 1881. Unfortunately I cannot get to any FHS where the records would be available. Thank you, regards Carole Wallsend, Australia

I've found details of an 1811 will in the Death Duty Registers that could help me a lot if I can identify legatees. I am looking for marriages to WEAVERs, particularly Benjamins, Richards, Francises and Johns, from 1811 back to the earlier 1700s. One is probably a daughter of James SEVIOR. Francis WEAVER of Faulkland in the psh of Kilmington left: - property and money to his brother John WEAVER - lands in the pshes of Chilcompton and Dunkerton and money to his nephew Benjamin WEAVER and money to: - his niece Rachael CHAPMAN - Francis WEAVER (descended from a brother of his father) - his cousins Benjamin and Richard WEAVER - to James Sevior WEAVER (a descendant of his brother) - Robert POPJOY (descended from a brother of his grandmother). It is Robert that I am interested in. There are CHAPMAN/POBJOY marriages across the Wilts border at this period. Richard WEAVER paid the duty for his son Francis. James SEVIOR paid in trust for James WEAVER. I read the family structure as follows. Francis WEAVER (d. 1811) had a brother John who had a son Benjamin and a daughter Rachel, who married ?? CHAPMAN bef. 1811. A son of John married a d/o James SEVIOR and had a son James. Francis had a paternal uncle, who had sons Benjamin and Richard. Richard had a son Francis bef. 1811. The POPJOY/POBJOY connection is more difficult, because I don't know the maiden names involved.
Hello Can anyone look on a trade directory for John Barrett, jeweller or shopkeeper, in Wootton Bassett? He was a pedlar in 1871, a shopkeeper in 1874 and a deceased jeweller in 1882. He was dead by 1881. Thanks in advance! I can offer 1830 Pigot's, 1881 census and BVRI lookups in return. Taryn ____________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
