    2. David Cheek
    3. Dear Connie I have been trawling several Parish Registers over the last year or so and have on record the name LEMMON (2 marriages) in Wiveliscombe, Somerset, in the early 1700's.... The marriages concerned are:- 27.11.1724 Susannah LEMMON married John GREEDY in St Andrews, Wiveliscombe 05.11.1733 John LEMMON married Joan COLLARD in St Andrews, Wiveliscombe I know there were other LEMMON entries and as I was not interested in them did not record them. You state that your search area will in all the surrounding counties of Somerset, however, Wiveliscombe close to the border with Devon may be a starting point. Best regards and good hunting David Cheek - Adelaide - Australia Virus Protection by Norton AntiVirus 2001 -----Original Message----- From: John Falk [mailto:jcfalk@cadvision.com] Sent: Wednesday, 25 April 2001 12:45 PM To: WESSEX-PLUS-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [WSX] Searching :LEMMON,LEMON, BARTON Connie wrote, I have just joined this list and am searching for my grand parents. My father, William James Lemon was born approx. August 8, or 13, 1908, in Plymouth. According to the records that we have he became a ward of the Scattered Homes of Plymouth at the tender age of 3. We have no records or trace of him from the time of his birth until his admittance into this facility. He remained here until he was transferred to the Liverpool Sheltering Homes, at the age of 15. He only remained here for a short time and than was sent to Canada as part of the Barnardo Organization. My search is for any family member of his, especially his parents. There is no birth certificate, and no birth registration for a child by that name for this time period, or this area of England. My areas for this search would probably be :Devon, Berkshire, Bristol, Gloucestershire, Hampshire, and all the rest I will try them all and see where it gets me. ----Connie---descendant of BHC, William James Lemmon (Lemon)

    2. Dear Friends, I have a list of marriages at Stalbridge for the LEMON and PARSONS names from 1691 until 1812. I had forgotten I had this until there was a rash of letters about the Lemon name on our sites. If this might plug any gaps in someone's searches, please contact me off-list and I will check through. I must beg forbearance, though - this weekend, we have visitors, so time will be limited. Hope that I help someone! Iain, in Brampton, Cumbria, a rather disease ridden locality just now! Still I beleive one of the Bournemouth papers also got the date wrong so I am not the only one! I'm just the only one to have delayed the event by 5 months. I think the cake might be stale by September! Of course, as you have pointed out, it is this Saturday coming - SATURDAY APRIL 28th! Several people on the Dorset and Wessex lists have told me they will be there - including Bob Stone who is a regular contributor to Dorset and who is over in the UK from Canada. Will he be the visitor who has travelled the furthest or can someone beat that? Looking foward to meeting you! 3. Connie wrote, I have just joined this list and am searching for my grand parents.

After many tries I had to enter a false Australian address as the form was sensitive to context and word length and kept rejecting my rural route address. It would not take a blank anywhere. In the message I included my correct address and received the certs with no problem. Geoff Hallett, near Kingston, Canada

    3. On Mon, 23 Apr 2001 23:12:23 +0100, you wrote: >I've received a message on another computer, at my Freeserve address, >telling me that I've sent someone an attachment with a virus. Please do not >open any attachments from me, as I haven't sent any at all. >I would seriously appreciate advice about this. 1 If anyone is concerned Joy isn't subscribed to this list with her Freeserve address and is also using a different PC so you have no worries on that score. 2 I've written off-list to Joy regarding what I hope should be a painless return to normal ? If anyone wishes to add anything - the usual rules apply - ie please write off-list! Keep your anti-virus software up to date - daily or weekly at a minimum. Don't open "any" attachment you aren't expecting - check with the sender - and if you are of a nervous disposition just delete it! If you think you may have caught this particular virus ie by opening an attachment to which the response is "File data corrupt probably due to bad data transmission or bad disk access." then DON'T switch your computer OFF. Update your virus software and run it there and then and hopefully it will clear the virus files from you hard disk and no damage will be done ie it is not until you switch off your computer and re-boot it that the virus is initiated or able to go into action. And for those who may not be aware with this virus it's the worm in the software that is initiating the e-mails not the owner - any new mail sat in the in-tray for more than 5 minutes on an infected machine will set the worm into action sending itself into the outer world. So don't flame the sender, as has happened on some lists - It could be that another user of that PC has caused the infection! For those using Outlook Express make sure you have the latest version and/or the latest patches from Microsoft. Ensure that scripting is switched off on your PC, unless you use the facility: the only other user will probably be the writer of a virus! Regards Paul Portland
