    3. Hello listers.... Can anyone shed any light on the parents of Matthew LUMBERT/LUMBARD... who married Elizabeth MOOREY (sic) on 26th February 1764 in Axminster DEV? I am trying to connect him to the several LUMBARD families in the Hawkchurch and Thorncombe area on the DEV/DOR border in the early 1700's Also seeking the parents of a Charles BAILEY of Littleham (Exmouth) DEV, who was made to pay a sum of money in regards to a Bastardy Order in Honiton DEV in 1807. Not surprisingly this bounder is proving to be rather elusive! Thanks and may 2003 bring all our ancestors 'home to roost'!!!!! I would be very interested to get in touch with anyone who is interested in the Longmans of Somerset, or who could suggest anything which might prove/disprove my identification of Dorcas the wife of Richard with Dorcas the daughter of William and Maria. 1. [WSX] NEVILLE of Hampshire and Berkshire
    2. John Lewis
    3. a letter with the above title appeared in the June 2001 issue of Berkshire Family Historian. The author was GUY NEVILL, London SE 26 but no other information to allow me to contact him. I have an interest in the Neville family as Eliza Nevill, dau of Charles Nevill and Martha Lewington, married Charles Barker at Mattingley on 14 Sep 1872 and was thereby to become my gt.grandmother. If Guy Nevill is on this list or is known to anyone I would like to contact him to compare my Neville family tree with his database. I think my line goes back to Daniel Nevill and Judith Kemp who married at Stratfield Turgis in 1748 but my data has not been cross-checked with other researchers. Guy mentions the Stratfield Turgis Tree and says he had confirmation of this from Pat SLOAN & Jill LINCOLN who may be on this list. The only contact I have made with regard to the Nevilles has been Vic WISE who has provided me with several lists of Neville Marriages and Burials. --- John Lewis <jayellatntlworlddotcom> from Bournemouth, Dorset, UK. using Debian GNU/Linux and GeneWeb genealogy software Main Family Names in HAM are: Kingsclere: BUTLER, COOPER, FISHER, FOSTER, GIRDLER, HAWKINS, SMITH Hazeley Heath: BARKER, CHANDLER, LEWINGTON, NEVILL(E) Main Family Names in GLA are: GRIFFITH, HOPKINS, JENKINS, LEWIS. 1. [WSX] BURRY/BERRY family of Stert ,Wilts.
    2. Jane Griggs
    3. Hi Listers, I am trying to find information about ISAAC BURRY/BERRY. He was born in 1819 in Stert,Wilts. and married Eleanor NOTTEN(NOTTON) - born 16th August 1818 in Lavington,Wilts. They were probably married before 1845. A kind person looked them up in the 1851 census for me and found them living at Stanton Mill,Wilts. where he was a Miller Master - as far as I could tell all the family was there except my g-grandfather(Henry Norris) who would have been 6 at this time - nobody can find him on the census but I have found him on the CRI(Berry) - sometime after the second child the family name was changed to Berry. I would love to have some earlier details of Isaac & Eleanor, particularly about their parents. I know it is a lot to ask but I really would appreciate any information at all. Many thanks in anticipation Regards Jane Griggs

    3. Those with interests in Portland and Wyke Regis, Dorset, or who had a relative in the Poor House in Weymouth, might, when they have a few spare minutes, like to take links from: http://www.pbenyon.plus.com/Dorset.html where I've included some photos of Portland and Wyke churches and many of the non-conforming churches and chapels that are still identifiable (perhaps now used as dwellings etc); Schools and other buildings (such as light houses) as they are today. Where possible, I've included a transcript from the Portland Year Book for 1905, giving details of ministers, church and school officers with times of services, and the many chapels or places or worship that are no longer identifiable. Although most of the info is for 1905, it makes more than clear that over 40% of the church going population was probably attending non-conforming services as stated in the Church Census for 1851. 3. Pauline Thanks for your response. Known details are as follows William Morris Woodman (Sawyer Master on my grandfather's birth certificate, 1898). Wife Eva Annie Bragg. On 1901 Census he seems to have dropped William and appears as Morris Woodman (Mill Sawyer), born Littleton Drew, date of birth would be abt. I863. I've also found a Maurice Woodman age 17 born Littleton, Wiltshire on the 1881 Census. Are Littleton and Littleton Drew one and the same place? Apart from that, I have absolutely no other information as yet.Would appreciate any help/advice anyone can give me about how to go about finding out parents names. 3. Hi Carole I have WOODMAN ancestry from Littleton Drew, and have a fair bit of information on the surname in and around the parish - beyond just my own ancestors. My great great grandmother was a Ruth WOODMAN born in Littleton Drew in 1846, daughter of William WOODMAN and Mary nee PRITCHARD. I am very willing to share any information I have that would be of interest to you, but it would probably help if you could say a little bit more about your WOODMANs in Littleton Drew first, so I don't swamp you with irrelevant details! 3. Hullo Dave, I suppose you can't help me as you are searching in the Rode area? I am looking for the birth/ bap of Thomas LUDLOW who was an Ag Lab, working for Job USHER in Rode around 1803... He married Mary RENTMOORE from Kilmersdon. I have his birth at Rowde and his working at Rode but no birth date or parentage, though I believe this to be Samuel LUDLOW & Mary BRYANT. This is clutching at straws I know, but we have been searching for so long!!!
