I am a great-great granddaughter of John Weisner and Jane McKaughan of North Carolina. For a year now I have tried, to no avail, to sort out the myriad of North Carolina John Weisners (Wesner/Weisner/Weesner/Weasonner in search of conclusive evidence as to the parents of my great-great grandfather. It is my presumption that his parents might be Johannes Wesner and Catharina Ebert. Reportedly there are 11 children of this nion including a (Johannes) John Jr. born 5/5/1789 or 1790 died 2/16/1858 which I believe may be my direct ancestor. Of all of the lines I have researched to date this one has more inconsistencies, obvious errors and dead ends than any of the rest. Forsyth Co. Census 1850 Records John Weisner, age 62 residing with wife Jane and Phebe McKaughan. Note: Neither John Weisner or Jane appear in the Census of 1860 which would be consistent with their respective deaths in 1858 and 1850. North Carolina Marriage Bonds 1. John Weasonner married Jane McCaughhan (s/b McKaughan) - my great great grandmother. Bond Date: 3/25/1844 Guilford Co. 2.John Weesner married Susannah Fagg Bond Date: 12/4/1817 Rowan Co. Note: Possible first wife of my direct ancestor. Susannah Fagg is recorded as having died March 11, 1842 which would allow for this second marriage. Moravian Church - Friedberg Church Register a. Records Catharine Jane Wesner (my great grandmother), born September 25, 1850 to John and Jane Wesner of Pleasant Fork and baptized as an outsider at Friedberg on November 24, 1850. b. Jane Wesmer os recorded as having died in 1850 and was buried as an outsider at Friedberg Moravian. John Wesner is not recorded as buried there. Can anyone help me solve this puzzle? Sincerely, Ruthann Davis Bell
