    1. Re: [WESNER] James Wesner of Berks Co., PA
    2. Now we're on a track! Can you find out WHAT CHURCH they belonged to? Here is some OTHER Wesner (actually you'll find that name spelled MANY different ways too). I have determined that your Illinois line is NOT connected to mine that I know of, but then, I am missing info on my Gr.Grandfather's own brothers. They were Peter b. 1821 and William b. 1827 in Amity Twp., Berks Co., Pa. My Gr.Grandfather Mahlon Wessner, a tailor in Douglassville, Berks Co. I know these fellows father and mother, but that is where my brick wall is. It's possible that he may be a son of the following people but I have never been able to find ALL of the 5 brothers children, born in Pa. If you get any clues on that, just let me know. There were many WESSNER's that immigrated from Germany in about 1750's and I know you can find them on Rootsweb. Just type in MATHIAS WESSNER etc. And these Wessner's lived in Albany Twp. which is farther North than Berks Co. (I have found it to be a GOOD AID by downloading EARLY County maps of Pa. There are many places to find them. Try Cindy's List:_Cyndi's List of Genealogy Sites on the Internet_ (http://www.cyndislist.com/) I have a feeling that you will tie in your James Wesner with these early immigrants (orginally there were 5 brothers who came to Pa.: Hans Martin Wessner (Wosener) b. Aug 21, 1725 Stuttgart Germ., Johannes Wessner (Wessener) b. Dec 12, 1726, Matthais Wesner b. Feb 20, 1730, Johan George Wessner b. Mar 7 1732 and Johann Michael Weesner (Wessner) b. Oct 10, 1734. (the last two brother were on board the ship Priscilla, arrived in Sept 12, 1750. If I remember, the other 3 brothers came slightly later. And in your research you will find: WESSNERSVILLE, Pa. (but today it's name is Stony Run, Pa.) Other than this info I've given I doubt that I can be of any further help to your James but you find the other people on Rootsweb that has these brothers and I'll bet you can talk with them and they can help you?
