Absalom Wells was born in Kentucky March 7, 1802, came with his parents in 1822 and settled in the northeastern part of Symmes Township, southwest of Paris, Illinois. Elizabeth Starr born August 3, 1801 in North Carolina came with her parents, Jasper and Alsa Starr to Edgar County in 1822. Absalom Wells and Elizabeth Starr were married March 4, 1824, among the first of 13 couples married in Edgar County that year. They lived in a log cabin and were the parents of nine children....."
