WELLS -- Dr. Leila H. Wlls, of 8015 Tara Lane, died Sunday afternoon. She was born in Washington, D.C., and come to Jacksonville in 1952. Dr. Wells received her M.D. degree at George Washington University, and was a general practitioner in Washington and California. After passing the State Board of Pathology, she was employed at St. Luke's Hospital, and became the pathologist at Brewster Hospital which is now Methodist Hospital. Together with ehr late husband, Dr. Carl H. Wells, they operated the Well's Medical Laboratory. She was named assistant medical examiner for Duval County and was pathologist for the Beaches Hospital until 1972. Dr. Wells returned to practice with the Alcoholic Detoxification Center in Jacksonville and was named to head the Methodone Clinic in Jacksonville. She was a member of the Alpha Delta Phi sorority, and was named in Who's Who in American Women. She was a member of the American Medical Association, American Board of Pathologists, Florida Medical! Association, and Duval County Medical Society. A prominent resident of Jacksonville, she is survived by two sons, Henry H. Wells, Jacksonville, and Philip H. Wells, M.D., of Gainesville; and five grandchildren, Erik, Brett, Stephanie, Chad and Jason Wells. At the request of the family, there will be a closed service. In lieu of flowers, it is requested that donations be made in her name to the Beaches Hospital Auxiliary, Jacksonville Beach, Fla. Arrangements in charge of Robert M.
