Fascinating stuff. Wasn't Anthony Newnam the name of a loyalist General during the Revolution? I often wondered what, if any connection there might have been to the MD / DE Newnam family. ----- Original Message ----- From: SMBEDWELL@aol.com<mailto:SMBEDWELL@aol.com> To: WELLS-L@rootsweb.com<mailto:WELLS-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, May 05, 2006 1:15 PM Subject: Re: [WELLS-L] Re: Green Wells & White Cappers Tony & Margaret, Tony, my information on Green Marion Wells agrees with yours. This is one of those fascinating pieces of history that pop up in genealogical research. I may have stumbled on another piece of Newnam information. A Thomas Wells is listed as an auxiliary name on a 1908 land grant in Bedford County, Tennessee. Anthony Nunom (sic) is also named as an auxiliary on the same grant. I suspect this is Thomas Wells of Lincoln County, Tennessee.
