    3. Hi Cousin! You are of course speaking of the Southold WELLS (Joshua 1742-1813, son of Joshua WELLS 1716-1791, son of Joshua WELLS 1591-1761, son of Joshua "Justice" WELLS 1664-1744, son of William WELLS 1605-1671, the immigrant father of this branch. William D. b 24 Dec 1769/70 was the son of Joshua and his first wife, Sarah BROWN who died 16 Aug 1822 in Cicero, Saratoga Co., New York. He married Rachel ARNOLD on 22 Mar 1795 and they had 13 children: William P. b 29 Sep 1796; Amanda b 2 Aug 1797; Hannah b 21 Dec 1798; Theophilus b 17 Jul 1800; Lansing b 9 May 1802; Asa b 3 Jul 1804; Joshua b 26 Nov 1805; Robert Lyle b 28 Oct 1807; David b 24 Mar 1810; Anson b 13 Sep 1811; Marilla b 8 Jun 1813; Joseph b 24 Sep 1815; and (Ensign) Brown b 16 Nov 1817. I have spouses for Hannah, Lansing, Joshua, Robert and Brown. You can find this info at the Wells Family Research Association website. Orin WELLS, our guru, has done a great job tracing WELLS and I encourage you to visit the site. If you are a male WELLS, please join the WELLS DNA project!! Believe they were both born in Southold on Long Island, at the turn of the century lived in Wells NY (Hamilton County) and then moved to Augusta Centre NY (Oneida County). Thank you for your help. >
