James born in VA and Charlotte (maiden name unknown) born October 9,1803 in MD. Albert's siblings: John (1831), Thomas Van Buren (1835), James II (1838)and Sarah Jane(1842) WELLS. Albert "adopted" the surname of Welch when the family became divided over the politics of the Civil War. Why he selected the surname of Welch is also unknown. All of Albert and Lucretia SINKHORN WELLS eleven children (included two sets of twins)were born with the surname of WELCH. Really need help here!!!
