(Farmville and Blackstone are located in central Virginia) Olin Belle Blalock Dies Friday at Age 100 Blackstone, Feb 21 - Olin Belle Wells Blalock, 100, of Blackstone, died Friday, February 17, 2006 at her daughter's home, surrounded by her loving family. She was the widow of John Joe Blalock. She is survived by her children, Joseph O. Blalock, David M. Blalock and wife, Betty, Dorothy B. Stell and husband, Jimmy, James Steven Blalock and wife Jackie, Margaret B. Brockwell and Clinton L. Blalock and wife Nancy; grandchildren, Becky Hargrave, Donna Archer, Delialah Smith, Marie Carsley, Eugene Blalock, Sheree Blalock, Wanda Jackson, Beverly Lang, Perry Blalock, Wayne Blalock, Anita Lovern, Deborah Brockwell, Teresa Andrews, Allen Blalock, Sandra Reuss, Kimberly Castle, and Ella Sue Schellhaus; 35 great-grandchildren; 21 great-great-grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews, cousins and a special friend and caregiver, Laura Allgood. She was preceded in death by her parents Matthew and Minnie Wells; brothers and sisters, William, Dewery, Elizabeth, Annie, Little Marrow Sadelia and Swanson and a son-in-law, Jimmy Brockwell. Mrs. Blalock was a member of Blackstone Baptist Church, a homemaker and tobocco farmer. She enjoyed gardening, canning and flowers. Funeral services were held 11 a.m. Monday at Hamner-McMillian Funeral Home with the Rev. G.C. Hughes and the Rev. Billy Blalock officiating. Burial followed at Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery, Baskerville.
