WELLS, WILLIAM L., of Dallas, was born in Marion County, Oregon, January 6, 1859. He engaged in farming and hop growing near Buena Vista, and in 1886 was elected Assessor of Polk County. In 1890 he was elected Sheriff, and was re-elected in 1892. He is now the Republican nominee for County Judge. -Tony Larson
