    1. Re: Sarah Adele Wells
    2. Does anyone in the Wells list know anything about a Sarah Adele Wells-possible her middle name was Cecilia. She was born about 1807 in South Carolina and died 1878 in Washington, D. C. She was the wife of Elijah Sinclair who was a Methodist Minister in Georgia and South Carolina. She was also the mother of Carrie Belle Sinclair who wrote poetry and composed music during the Civil War. I suspect that Sarah Wells Sinclair had a sister by the name of Julia who married a lawyer named B. A. Wilson in Charleston, South Carolina. One of Sarah Wells's Sinclairs daughters-Ada, was living with the family of B. A. Wilson in Charleston in 1850 while her mother was still living in Richmond County, Georgia. Wilson's wife was recorded as Ada's aunt in one census and since I have found no Wilsons in the Sinclair family tree(my husband's line) I think Julia may have been a Wells too. Ada Sinclair was the wife of Cornelius Irving Walker who was a Confederate General and wrote and published some material on the Civil War. Myabe someone will recognize some of this.
