Pierson was born Sept. 10, 1921, at Barrett, the daughter of Elias Rich Fairchild and Anna Wells Fairchild. She graduated from Frankfort High School. She married Frank Pierson on June 26, 1941. Pierson was a homemaker, spending most of her life in Junction City. She moved to Frankfort in 1997 to be near relatives. Pierson is survived by one son, Anthony Pierson of Grain Valley, Mo.; one daughter, Helen Moreland of Topeka; one brother, Lyle Fairchild of Frankfort; six step-brothers, Ronnie Fairchild of Hastings, Neb., Johnnie Fairchild of Oakley, Jim Fairchild of Abilene, Kenneth Fairchild and Robert Fairchild of Vermillion and Larry Fairchild of Overbrook; two step-sisters, Lois Isaman of Vermillion and Irene Joyce of Marysville; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Pierson was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank Pierson, on Feb. 8, 1997; her sister, Helen Paden; and her brothers, Billy Mark Fairchild, Wayne Fairchild and Oliver Fairchild. The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church at Frankfort, with the Rev. Karen Miller officiating. The organist will be Janet Plegge; the soloist will be Steve Gleason.
