Some genealogical data in it, stating that Pleasant Wells died Janury [sic] 22th 1837. Some pencil writing that is hard to read. Also Henry V. Wells was born on the 9th Day of August, 1812; Sarah Jane Epps Wells was born the 17th day of our Lord december A D 1854; Ann Elisebeth Wells was born on the 27th day of December A.D. 1852. "Very heavy thunder and lightning on the night of the 26th January 1854. In pencil: J.R. Northcutt, Co. H, 10 Ala. Regt., Wm T. Glover July 29 / 80. Ann E Wells died 1867. That's about all the data I see. There's a very clear provenance for this Bible -- the city dump ca. 1962. Yes, that's where it came from. I was a little kid, and was walking around the dump with my father, looking for decent stuff, and I saw a stack of papers near a fire that was burning, and this old Bible happened to catch my eye. Don't ask me why a little kid wanted to save this, I guess I've always been interested in old stuff. And so, I've been the caretaker of this piece of family history for ages, and now it's time for it to find a new and caring home. About 1980, I made copies of the Bible, and sent it to the "Genealogical Helper", and made copies for folks, etc. As things stand now, I don't have time to make more copies, if you need a copy, please write to the Library of Virginia, I'll send them a digital copy. Condition for this is, well, it's pretty worn down, but holding together well.
