I found this on ebay if anyone is researching these people: Offered is an undated letter, probably in the 1840's and addressed to Benj F. WELLES, Pultney, Steuben CO., NY and it from his sister Mary BLACK. She mentions their Mothers health. Also asks about Rebecca and the balky horse. Research suggests this is: Benjamin Franklin WELLS ( 1791-1885) in Kinderhook NY; son of Dr. Benjamin WELLS (1756-1813) and Sarah NELSON WELLS (1762-1853). The son Benjamin married Rebecca PRENTISS or PRENTICE in Pultney in 1814. His siblings were Mary who married John BLACK; James(1783-1855); Sylveter (1785-1871); Sarah (1787-1875); William (1792-1864); Henry (1794-1868); Theodosia (1796-1873); Elihu (1799-1867) and Julia (1804-1813). A wonderful family letter. Thanks for looking:>) Buyer to pay $1.00 S/H. Note that upper right is missing not seriously affecting words.
