According to New England Historic and Genealogical Register 1926. Research done by Wells & Banks . Thomas WELLES buried at Stourton in Whichford, Warwickshire, 30 Aug 1558. He was possible the son of Robert WELLYS, who was taxed at Whichford in 1523; known to have been the brother of Walter WELLES of Tredington and Tidmington, Worcestershire. Thomas WELLS married (1) Elizabeth who was buried at Whichford 11 Jan 1552/3, the mother of his children; married (2) at Whichford on 28 Oct. 1553 Elizabeth BRYAN, perhaps the Elizabeth who was buried at Whichford on 4 Oct 1558.
