(I am guessing maybe in Fayette County.) Rebecca and her WELLS husband had Oscar WELLS, b. Mar 1882 WV, Mattie Lilly WELLS, b. 27 Jul 1886, WV, and John WELLS, b. Feb 1889 in WV. Rebecca married Ballard P. Lilly and is in the 1900 Census, WV, Summers Co., Talcott Dist., ED 133, Sheet 9 line 14, pg 165. A marriage date I found on World Connect is 24 Feb 1897 (I haven't been able to find a source for this date). We have two possible birth places for Mattie. When her oldest daughter died, she gave her birth place as Minden, Fayette Co. WV. When Mattie died, her son gave her birth place as Dorfee, Clay Co., WV. I figure Mattie would know better where she was born than her son, so that is where I am looking, but haven't had any luck so far. I know that this is a long shot, but does anyone have a Wells family that fits this discription?
