Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/SCWBAIB/4590 Message Board Post: I would please like to be contacted by the descendants of Harrison Wells and his wife Nancy S. Cook Wells. Born in Arkansas in 1823, Harrison Wells died in 1881 and is buried in the Old Bethel Cemetery in Grimes County, Texas. Nancy Wells died in 1879 and is buried in the Old Bethel Cemetery. In the 1850 and 1860 U.S. Census Harrison Wells was living in Crabbs Prairie, seven miles north of Huntsville, Walker County, Texas. In the 1870 U.S. Census the Wells family was living in Madisonville, Madison County, Texas and in the 1880 U.S. Census Harrison Wells and his second wife were living in Madison County, Texas close to the border with Grimes County. Mary "Pollie" A. Wells, a duaghter of Harrison and Nancy Wells, was my great-grandmother. Born in 1851, on February 18, 1868 she married Allen S. Bowen in Grimes County. He died in 1870 or early January 1871. On July 16, 1878 she married George Lewis Haynes in Madisonville, Texas. She died between 1910 and 1920 and is buried i! n Mt. Zion Cemetery in Lingleville, Erath County, Texas. Her son by Allen S. Bowen, Daniel Harrison Bowen, born January 22, 1871 in Madisonville, Texas and died April 20, 1926 near Strawn, Palo Pinto County, Texas, was my grandfather. Daniel H. Bowen is also buried in Mt. Zion Cemetery. There is a Wells family buried in Mt. Zion Cemetery and we would very much like to know if they are some of the descendants of Harrison Wells.
