I too hold Thomas & Abigail as possibilities only. Family history says that William Swan Wells died here in Memphis at the plantation on May 30, 1865 - I believe it is in the bible page! I don't know if anything is being done on Jim and Marliee's Stopehens line. I did find that a Stephen Wells b: 1600 fount for CT and did have a pension. Craigh does not like that I am keeping Thomas and Abigail (Swan) as possibly parents. I did add not proven. But I just don't want to lose them.
