They both lived in Lincoln Co., N.C. at the same time. John was born around 1740 and died in 1819,Lincoln Co., and buried in the Wells Family Burial Ground in Kings Co., N.C. I would imagine they are brothers or at least cousins. I have recently discovered that my ancestors beyond John are not who I thought, so I'm reworking the whole family, but I have a lot of info on his descendants.
