A gentleman from Mississippi who descends from Samuel Wells of Henry Co. matched my DNA pattern exactly for the Wells Family Association DNA Project. I know that my family descends from Dr. Humphrey Wells of Wilkes Co., GA who in turn descends from Zorobabel Wells of Maryland and his father Richard Wells born 1618 in England. This line has been completely documented and proved with several DNA tests. I have been trying to figure out how Samuel fits into my line. Tonight I found that Humphrey Wells who married Abigail Lindsey(this Humphrey is a 2nd cousin to my ancestor) lived in Newberry Co., SC and had a son named Samuel born c.1775. This Samuel moved to Twiggs/Wilkinson County, GA by 1813. He moved to Henry Co., GA by 1830 and had at least three sons Hezekiah, William M. and Samuel, Jr. The remnants of the family were living in DeKalb County by 1850. William M. Wells died prior to 1850 and left a son named Thomas ! J. Wells, born in 1830. This Thomas J. Wells had a son named William M. Wells born in 1860. He eventually ended up in Mississippi and is the progenitor of the family I've been trying to connect. I hope this info is of interest. John Wells
